• A strong core

The core feature of our building system is a modular panel comprising of two galvanised welded steel wire meshes joined by connectors and enclosing an expanded polystyrene sheet, which is then assembled and sprayed with shotcrete on site to provide structure and weatherproof properties. The system can be used in precast structures, on site in-situ cast structures and on site in-situ spray concrete depending on the project and client needs.

Fire resistance

The GLB panel has a resistance to fie (REI) of 120+ and a reaction to fire rating of A1. With a concrete finish to the internal and external surfaces there is no fire spread risk.

Versatile design

The versatility of the panel allows for many different design options, from curves to geometric shapes and balconies to roof top expansions. If it can be drawn it can be made.

Structurally sound

The panels produce structural elements capable of withstanding 112 tonnes of vertical load per m2.

Low carbon

The panel yields the lowest carbon footprint when compared to traditional, timber frame or metal systems, with 33kg of CO2e per m2 of wall compared to 117kg of CO2e per m2 of brick block and rock-wool insulation wall (based on a 0.2 value wall). A home made from the GLB system can reduce energy expenditure and carbon emissions by 65% compared to traditional builds, making it one of the best passive house systems around.

Energy efficiency

The rigid core and concrete finish ensures intimate contact between the insulation and the structure, allowing for maximum energy efficiency while also providing air-tightness standards that exceed current proposed Building Regulation standards. The default rigid insulation core has the highest A+ rating in the BRE Green Guide.

Redefining Modern Methods of Construction

Low Carbon & Sustainable

Simple construction using UK made Polystyrene and fine concrete to provide an extremely low carbon build simply and efficiently. Our sustainable system creates less CO2 in construction (33kgCO2e/m2) and saves over 65% of user energy requirements than traditional homes and our panels provide less waste in design and production, they can be recycled and, thanks to being lightweight, it saves on transport.

Versatile

Any shape, structural or not, our panels can be cut on site to any geometric shape so give full design flexibility, offering a complete range of building elements: load-bearing walls, curtain walls, floors, ceilings, roofs, and stairs. Mix and match with other systems.

Robust

Our advanced building system has undergone internationally recognised laboratory tests that prove the structural strength of its monolithic joints, meaning it can withstand earthquakes and cyclone as well as day to day family life. Fix to the walls wherever you like.

Fire Resistant

Panels are made of self-extinguishing expanded polystyrene, completely encapsulated in reinforced concrete which cover the sides of panels and prevent combustion. They meet international fire resistance standards, providing an REI rating of 120 minutes.

Speedy

The Advanced Building System reduces construction times by as much as 50% compared to traditional building methods.

Better Value Lower Carbon

A raw structure made with GLB panels can cost up to 40% less than a traditional structure of comparable market value. Plus, panels are machine made and assembly processes are optimised, leading to big savings on labour costs and all with a carbon benefit too.

Variable

The thickness of the expanded polystyrene sheet can be varied to meet the requirements of the insulation / U-Value for any project.

Adaptability

The core material can be adapted to insulant systems, including EPS, mineral wool, cork etc if required by client specification or building regs. Clear spans of up to 10m can be delivered as well as structures below ground.

Roll of insulation

Lightweight

The panels weigh just 3.8kg per square metre so they are easy to lift and carry, creating opportunities in difficult sites where you would struggle to get traditional construction to.

Simple

Simple to use in its basic form, the finished panels can be dressed to represent any finish from brick to timber or render as standard.

Projects

The panels produced using the EMMEDUE (M2) technology have been used to construct over 1 million buildings all over the world using offsite construction in various ways, from modules through to panels provided for the self-build market.
